Wingshot Kennel has been breeders of the best in versatile hunting dogs for over 25 years. We offer Braque Francais (Pyrenees) puppies and Vizsla puppies to the discriminating hunter and dog enthusiast.
Wingshot Kennel is in Alpine, a small rural town in central Alabama. We are located about 2 hours from Atlanta & Montgomery and 1 hour from Birmingham. Our home sits on a hillside across from beautiful Logan Martin Lake. On 2 sides we are surrounded by the woodlands of YMCA Camp Cosby. We started with a small kennel, then enlarged it to allow us to provide puppies for placement with other families who share the same type of love for active but velcro dogs and the outdoors as we do.
We have Vizsla's and Braque Francais (Pyrenees) and consider them all to be family members; they receive lots of loving attention. Both breeds have a sweet but enthusiastic personality, are eager to please, some are good hunters and others are a little too spoiled. Our Vizsla's come from hunting lines and are registered with AKC . Vizsla puppies are litter registered with AKC. All of our adult Braque Francais are registered with NAVHDA and AKC FSS. All Braque Francais puppies are litter registered with NAVHDA and now with AKC FSS. Puppies are born in our home. All puppies receive their 1st shot and several deworming’s before leaving for their new homes and come with a written health guarantee/purchase agreement and are vet checked. Braque Francais puppies and Vizsla puppies have their tails docked and dewclaws removed. The puppies get plenty of exercise and are handled & talked to daily. We take many precautions to ensure that our puppies are healthy, happy, and sociable and we try to make sure that they end up in the hands of a caring responsible owner. We want you to rest assured that we would not knowingly sell a defective puppy. We ask our new owners to take their pet ownership responsibilities seriously. A Vizsla and Braque Francais will be your lifelong companion. Puppies are ready for new homes usually at 7 weeks of age. If you cannot come to visit us in person to select a pup, we can handle everything by phone and internet. We can occasionally make arrangements for personal delivery (part-way or full) and the fee is based on the distance we travel. Some new owners prefer to fly here and back on the same day with their new puppy in the cabin of the airplane.
As a pointing dog enthusiast and breeder, the goal of Wingshot Kennel is to breed dogs that are intelligent and responsive, have strong pointing instincts and drive, and are conformationally sound. They are bred to produce puppies that will have good conformation, temperament, intelligence, endurance, and proper range & bird finding ability. They are all day dogs that will give you all they have. Breeding the "best to the best" to maintain and hopefully improve the breeds.
